Pontiac was a brand of American automobiles that was produced by General Motors from 1926 to 2010. The brand was named after the Native American chief of the Ottawa tribe, Pontiac. The early models of Pontiac were known for their powerful engines and stylish design, which made them popular among car enthusiasts. Over the years, Pontiac produced a wide range of popular models, such as the Pontiac GTO, Firebird, Grand Prix, and Trans Am. However, due to the decline in sales and financial difficulties, General Motors announced the discontinuation of the Pontiac brand in 2010. Today, Pontiac automobiles remain popular among collectors and vintage car enthusiasts.
