We're selling our beloved giant van! We've come to the hard decision that it's time to part with our diesel-powered 2015 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van. It has helped us welcome two new kiddos (we have four!), driven us all around the country, and been a wonderful camping companion.
We're now in a place where we're staying put more and it's time to say goodbye so that she can help others find adventure.
This is a black Sprinter 2500 that runs on diesel. It’s the high-roof, full-length 170” wheelbase model. The van has about 91,000 miles and seats up to 12 with three included bench seats. (Currently the van has only two three-seat rear benches installed. The four-seat bench is on-hand and will be included in the sale, but a fourth row does not fit in the van with the platform/bed that is currently installed).
It has an awning on the passenger side of the vehicle and two roof-rack bars strong enough to hold a rooftop tent. (We still have the rooftop tent, including a custom extended ladder to allow it to be used on top of the high-roof van, but it is not currently installed. We would consider including it in the sale.) We will also include an extendable ladder with a magnetic attachment for exterior use on the van, as well as a flexible solar panel with connections designed to fit on the hood of a Sprinter van and supplement the battery power. The battery, speaking of which, is brand new.
We built an easily removable platform/bed in the back half of the van, along with a kid-sized top bunk (width of a twin bed, but shorter). The main platform will hold a queen mattress and is made of individual planks that can be readily moved/removed. It is supported by a frame that is mounted into existing holes in the interior van wall and supported in the rear by two raw-wood beams. It has been usable and useful for us, and the whole thing can also be removed by just undoing a series of screws. We are open to removing that ourselves before the sale or leaving it for your continued use.
The previous owner built and installed a tv/speaker system with DVD player which connects to an inverter and runs on the engine battery. We have generally kept it disconnected but it’s still there.
The van has been an extremely reliable companion for us. It has a noticeable scratch on one of the back-end doors, and the driver’s door bonked against a tree at one point and has some cosmetic damage.
